Beds and Headboards

Yesterday I went shoeshopping and couldn't find anything I liked within my budget. I posted a long time ago about how headboards are like the equivalent to a really fancy pair of heels. (Click here) You know you don't need them, and can probably find something cheaper that would do the trick, but you just feel as if it's necessary. And so my Sunday shoe escapade has me thinking about headboards and bedframes today and all of the varities they come in.

I wish I'd known about decals, wallpapered frames, and painted headboard designs earlier. For a super tiny room these are a great option:

Found via Absolutely Beautiful Things post on Bedrooms on a Budget. I would love this bottom one as a DIY project.

I really like the idea of an alcove for a headboard. Something about sleeping in a little cove is really appealing and cozy-sounding.

These regal headboards are like a pair of Marc Jacobs shoes to me. If I ever own one it will be a sign that I've really made it!

I really like the idea of the headboard and bench/sitting area at the foot of the bed in lieu of a footboard. I have ideas along this line for the new house. When you see it, you can tell me what you think.
