Back to School

I am getting really excited about going back to school in the fall. Partly because I'm moving closer to my family whom I miss, partly because it will be a change of pace, and then partly (a big partly) because I can buy school supplies again. I wonder how serious I have to pretend to be just because it's grad school. Do people bring flowery, printed and patterned notebooks to class in public policy school?
