Bridesmaid Dressing
I'm trying to help my sister with colors and bridesmaid dresses for her wedding. I have a question for those of you who are color-inclined :) She wants orange flowers, and her dress is...well, I'm not allowed to say anything about it. But it's classic, and pretty. We were thinking along the lines of navy bridesmaid dresses. I came up with this drawing. Does navy work for a June wedding if the flowers are bright and contrasting?

I think it could be great, if the dresses have a band (or feature) of ivory or cream, the way it's shown in your sketch. Also, you could mix orange blossom (those tiny white flowers) in with the bright orange flowers to draw it all together, perhaps.
If the fabric for the bridesmaid dresses is lightweight and un-fussy, I think navy would still feel nice and summery with the orange flowers!
navy and orange is a very classy and unusual color combination. I love that drawing! I think this look has a lot of potential, and I agree with helen's suggestions. Good luck!
By the way, thank you very much for your encouragement re my bathroom! You were right about the black/yellow/white post - that was me. Right now, I'm veering towards a yellow/white/orange combination for a bit more color. Just after I read your comment, though, I ran out and bought the yellow isola bella bath mat from anthropologie that I had posted about! It looks great...though it's only the beginning.

Yes, I love navy with orange! You should make thank you cards out of your drawing or "will you be my bridesmaid?" type cards if you sis hasn't asked people yet. Love the drawing. It would probably be easy to scan and print on cards.
That is a very cute idea to send out thank you cards with the image on it. If we go with this dress, maybe we will do that! I'm so happy everyone likes the navy orange idea :)
